How does it work having a cloud bookkeeper?

First, we’ll get you set up with the online accounting software that works best for your business and integrate it with any add-ons you might need. Once that’s squared away, you’ll get your own dedicated bookkeeper who handles all of the day-to-day work on your account. A controller oversees the bookkeeper and periodically reviews your books to make sure everything is done properly, and once a month or each quarter (depending on your plan), they’ll produce a financial report for you to review. You can even schedule a meeting with your controller to go over the numbers. Your controller also serves as your main contact for any ongoing accounting/bookkeeping questions, and if you’d like, they can work directly with your tax preparer or CPA.

How long does the setup process take?

That depends on how quickly we get the information we need from you, such as read-only access to business bank accounts and your prior financial records. Assuming we have this information, if you sign up by the 15th, we can have you ready to go by the first of the following month.

How often will my books be reconciled?

Depending on your plan, your books will be fully reconciled each month or quarter. However, our bookkeepers work on your account more frequently.

Do you own my accounting data?

No. Our contracts stipulate that you own your accounting data, and we’ll gladly transfer the software subscription to you at your request should you decide to leave.

Who pays for the software subscription(s)?

We include any software subscriptions in your flat monthly rate, so you don’t have to worry about any additional fees.

Can I pay you for the setup/conversion only?

Yes, and we’ll set you up with a software subscription under our partner account. If you don’t need our ongoing bookkeeping services, we’ll just bill you the monthly subscription fee. This enables us to support you if you ever need our help in the future.

We do not provide tax returns as part of our service, however we do work with a number of amazing CPA’s and tax return firms that can handle this for you.  Let us know if you need this as well and we will be happy to give you referrals.  Our focus is providing top-notch bookkeeping services. We will work with your current tax preparer or recommend a CPA who’s savvy in the cloud-based software we use. You’ll get the best pricing on taxes because the CPAs we work with know they’re getting a clean set of books.
